Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie weighs in on Trump's indictments

The former New Jersey governor opened his campaign by portraying himself as the only candidate ready to take on Trump. Christie called on the former president to “show up at the debates and defend his record.”

Christie will be on that stage, even if Trump isn’t, telling CNN this month that he surpassed “40,000 unique donors in just 35 days.” He also has met the polling requirements.

Chris Christie has always been ready to mix it up. Now, he is now running for president, and preparing to take the debate stage against a former president. «Me and Donald Trump, how much fun will that be, huh?» he said. «Get ready, baby!»

Talking to passers-by on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, N.J., the former governor said, «He’s never gotten his ass kicked by somebody from Jersey before, right? So, we know how to do that.»

Christie says, regardless of what Trump might say, he will speak the truth. «‘Cause the truth matters. And I think Republican voters need to hear the truth.»

Trump has suggested he might not show up for the debate; Christie is convinced he will. «He loves to tease.»

  1. Chris you trying your best to put Trump under the Bus Tell Everybody what you did when you was Governor the Bridge you Declare Now Trying to be president Noooooooo Trump ??????????????????????????????????? 2024

  2. $4M cash on hand after spending $40M on legal fees… the business genius has found a way to get others to pay for his expenses while he pretends to run for president. Trump's campaign should just set up their Go Fund Me and treat it for what it really is.
No former cabinet member wants to be with Trump in a second term, his family is not supporting him this round and he's more interested in staying out of jail than policy positions or anything else.

  3. If anyone can “weigh in” it’s this guy. Too bad we still remember his Obama hug and the time he closed the beaches to his constituents, but plopped his own fat butt on a private beach.

This man backed Trump, until he decided to run against him. This attempt to overthrow Our Government was not committed just by Trump. Most of the Republican Party did, and are still, attempting this overthrow right along with Trump, even today. They are all guilty of High Treason. The Republican Party prove every day that they no longer want to Honor their Oaths of Office to Uphold and Defend Our Constitution and the Rule of Law. They now have taken an Oath to a Man, and a Party. You know. Like good little Communist do. The Republican Party should be disbanded for taking part in such Traitorous actions. They wipe their backsides with Our Constitution and they care NOTHING for the Rule of Law. Trump must go to prison for all he has done against this Country. All those remaining in Office today that had any part in this Communist style coup need to be VOTED OUT of Office and into a prison cell right beside Trump. Let them cherish and kiss the backside of their Golden Calf, from in there. People used to ask me all the time if I thought we still lived in a land ruled by The Rule of Law and I always could unquestionably tell them yes. Now? I guess we will have to see. The American People deserve better. Adherence to Our Constitution and The Rule of Law is what has kept, "We The People" free of any would be tyrant like Trump and friends. Non-Adherence to our founding principles by people in Our Government, is what has brought America to this. Follow your Oaths of Office. The Justice Department says that in their Opinion, a sitting President cannot be investigated for, or charged with any crimes, while in Office. Something to do with having to adhere to Our Constitution, and having to obey The Rule of Law, could hamper a Presidents ability to Govern. They came out with that OPINION, after Nixon had to resign for his role in The Watergate Hotel break-in. Anyhow both Parties have held up this OPINION as Law ever since. This has made a mockery of Our Democracy, ever since by making Our President, "Above the Law" while in Office. A temporary Dictator if you will, who is "Above the Law" while in Office. In a strong Democracy there can be No-one, who is "Above the Law", while in Office or at any other time. Who gave The Justice Department the right to decide, who, and when, one must obey the Law? Congress makes the Laws of this land and I assure you they have never made a Law making our President or anyone else, "Above the Law" while in Office or not but here we are. Allowing Our President to be "Above the Law" While in Office. This must stop. It is Un-Constitutional. Uphold and Defend Our Constitution, and hold all to The Rule of Law. That is what has kept America Free and Democratic. Let's get back to doing that.
