  1. Cast a vote for Jersey here, driving in Guernsey is an insanely frustrating experience. The roads are that bit narrower and it makes the difference, constantly having to come to a halt and either give way or reverse. More countryside around Jersey where it’s easy to get away from people, Guernsey is noticeably more built up. There’s not a single beach on Guernsey that can compete with St Ouens or Plemont. Jersey has more beaches and almost all of them are better than their equivalent in Guernsey (with the possible exception of Fermain). Guernsey does feel nice in that it does feel like a slower pace of life (but let’s face it, it’s hardly midtown Manhattan in St Helier) and St Peter Port is unquestionably prettier than St Helier. I’ve got fond memories of visiting Guernsey as a kid, it’s where my family are from originally but Jersey just has more to offer (in my humble opinion).

  2. Very interesting and revealing, thank you. I think Guernsy is ideal for retired people is like heaven on earth for them?. Are there natural remedies intead of drugs? I find the medical care there must be rather good as one has to pay which in a way is good begause you get the service, the love and that is healing in itself, isn't it? Are there Ayurvedic doctors and remedies as well, because they're very good, the best. Thank you for shearing such fascinating info about these islans, bless them and yourselves for what you're doing. Your "studio" looks top notch, wonderful people??.

  3. OMG, get a life. Everything on Guernsey is on the top of the rock. You have to come down into St Peterport, becuz it is at the edge of the quarry.

The Renouf family owned the quarry, and when they couldn't go any deeper, they blasted out the side and created the harbour.

That is why the cruise ships can visit Guernsey, where as in Jersey the harbour isn't deep enough for the ships to come in.

  4. One point to add is the ease of travel off the island. Jersey has EasyJet flights to and from the UK whereas Guernsey is only served by Aurigny, Blue Islands and British Airways which are all much more expensive than Jersey. In fact, it’s cheaper to either come across in a car on the ferry or fly to jersey and get the ferry across than fly with Aurigny.

  5. It’s always a fascinating question this one. I grew up in Jersey, but moved to Guernsey en famille in 2007. I’m glad I grew up over there on the other island, it definitely has more offerings for younglings, that’s for sure. Although I do miss some elements of it, I doubt very much I’d ever move back there now. Guernsey is WAY more chilled out to live in, but I do try to get back ‘home’ to visit family at least twice a year.

  6. ? Holiday between Jersey ?? and Guernsey ?? for about 6 weeks each year, IMHO Jersey has more to see, especially at sunset, the views are stunning- though St.helier is now spoilt by commercial property, Guernsey's st.Peter port still has it's old charm, though after a couple of weeks struggling to find new places to see.

  7. I love Guernsey and have visited 6 or 7 times, but as I stay with my ex relatives (And want to keep them sweet) I haven’t visited Jersey (I know when I’m on to a good thing ;)) joking aside Guernsey is a stunning island, and even though there might not be a ton of things to do, I can’t imagine ever being bored there. Cheers for the videos

  8. I recently visited Jersey and I have instantly fallen in love with the island. Is Guernsey similar in terms of quality of life? The property laws in jersey are a nightmare for someone born and raised in England because I’d have to live there for a minimum of 10 years before I can buy a house. Does guernsey have laws like this for those not born in Guernsey? Is it true that Guernsey is cheaper than Jersey?

  9. Out of interest how does it feel trying to get off the islands for vacations (Jersey or Guernsey) either by plane or boat (to say UK, Europe or even further)? Which one feels easier to get in and out of?

  10. i taught for a year in Jersey so sampled Jersey life. – much prefer Guernsey. That was in 1959 and things have changed dramatically since then. I have the same problem here (NZ) – not many people know where Guernsey is – they tend to know Jersey more. And of course world wide few people knew about NZ in the early days – we were part of Australia!!

  11. Absolutely true, depends. But both islands are absolutely stunning and a class in its own. Been to both of them many times, they are not as far apart from each other as some islanders say. But if I had to make a choice, sorry Jersey, I'd be a donkey, St Peter Port and its harbour make the difference… ?

  12. Hey guys! Thanks for this channel. I have an interesting question and maybe you could actually do an episode on this… but how would we fare living in Guernsey if WW3 broke out? I think our chances are better there then here in South Africa that’s for sure. You guys have bunkers and such. Hmm, but also have a big military? I don’t know much about Guernsey but I’ve been studying it like crazy because of our opportunity to go there. We are very excited I must say. It looks like the most beautiful safe island. I’ve looked at Jersey and But definitely fell in love with Guernsey. Hopefully see you soon! Haha! Love and Peace ❤️
