14. As a NJD fan I though this would be a relatively easy win. Completely wrong. I wonder if the team took them just a little lightly too, for all their talk of "teams will be coming for us." Detroit definitely came to play.

18. Good home ice win, but i thought I would just mention the players from last season that are gone: Sharagovich to Calgary, but NJ get Toffoli in return. Tatar gone to Colorado, not sure if NJ got anyone in return. Severson, the veteran defenseman, gone to Columbus. And Mackenzie Blackwood, the long time no 1 goalie for NJ gone to San Jose for a measley 4th round draft pick.
    Did I miss any other NJ losses?

19. Jack may be the best hockey player in the NHL. He is a modern say Mogilny, superb skater, fabulous hands, spectacular shot, explosive and it all co es so easy to him. He is a joy to watch!

24. As a Devils fan who attended this game last evening, I was not happy with the way we played, but I’m glad we got the win, we just gotta stay focused and keep working on the things we’ve been working on and I see a great season this year, LETS GO DEVILS!!!!

    New Jersey Devils went up to 1-0-0, while the Detroit Red Wings dropped to 0-1-0

27. The lack of draft lottery luck is really showing for Detroit. No real difference makers out there, like Hughes. Ottawa, Buffalo, NJ all have stars. Detroit is gonna have a tough time competing in the Atlantic.

Ya ik faceoff was in d zone but it doesn’t matter at that point you have nothing to lose you need to get the puck up ice as quick as possible in that situation…That’s our coach Red Wings fans?

50. Nice to see the refs make their regular season debut. If that love tap from Perron is a penalty then there better be 20 penalties a game for every game played by every team. And successful backchecking is tripping? What a farce. Wings looked too good in the first for the bookies' liking I guess.
