  1. No offense Grav, but I would've loved to see Adam and Steve tackle this season preview after how commically wrong they were on last year's take ? it aged so poorly.

  2. I still think the loss of Yegor is a problem down the road. This team was supposed to be moving forward with a young scorer like him. I know Tiffoli is a "now" upgrade, but I think long term NJ will miss Sharongovich.

  3. Just replacing Blackwood's games last year with Schmid or VV is a big upgrade.
Having Timo all year and upgrading Yegor with Toffoli is huge for the offense.
Graves was NOT good down the stretch or playoffs. Luke will make his mistakes, but even with a slight short term downgrade on D, the big upgrades elsewhere far outweigh those problems.

  4. The Devils have been built to contend now and for years to come. They're still one of the youngest teams in the league and have their core locked up. Goaltending is going to be fine and I expect both Vanecek and Schmid to come back stronger this season. It's gonna be tough to win the Metro battling with the Canes and Rangers, but the Devils are battle tested and battle scary. This team is ready to be a force in the NHL

  5. Losing Severson wasn't as much of a sting. After years of being placed on the first line and being inconsistent as Hell, they finally moved him to the third line where he thrived.
Now Columbus are expeceded to put him on the first line again, get ready for the own goals Columbus.

  6. I think New Jersey got worse over the off season, BUT… and this is a big butt, you have to keep two things in mind here.
1.) It is really, REALLY hard to improve on a 112-point season, so getting weaker is to be expected.
2.) They only got weaker by a small margin. I still think them and Carolina will battle for top spot in the division and they are one of the favourites to win the Cup this year.

  7. If they don’t rely so much on Vitek in the regular season and maybe give more games to Schmido, I think he’ll perform better in the playoffs. I’m glad they didn’t go out and get another goalie. I think these two will be fine. LGD ?

  8. They need to upgrade the goaltending. Vitek is not the guy as he chokes in the post season. Three straight playoff seasons with over a 4 points per game average is horrific. I like Vitek and watched him in Hershey. He just hasn't put it together in the NHL post season. Hopefully he's working on it in the preseason to turn this around.

  9. 5:49 V wasn't supposed to even be a starter last season he was backup to Blackwood until he got injured so no one knows what V is capable of yet. He's physically sound he has to be mentally ready and if the guys and the fans back him up he'll be good. Devils defense let him down, both in the regular season and the playoffs. The guys know that and they need to do better.

  10. 2:38 Damon going to CBJ doesn't sting at all. He left on good terms and the Devils were happy for him getting paid ? by Columbus cuz they weren't able to give him that kind of raise. No friends on the ice but he's still fam ❤.
You missed Ryan going to Pittsburgh which is more annoying than anything.
