Beaches closed in popular Jersey Shore town
Jenkinson’s, a private company, abruptly closed all its beaches until next season, says Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Paul Kanitra. The mayor posted the news to social media clarifying this was not a decision made by the town.

So Jenkins owns most of pt. Pleasant beaches, but benefits from the state beach replenishment?
The courts are still ours correct? Either write a law saying you can't sue Jenkinsons if you drownd OR eminent domain the necessary property to insure beach access……litigate pro-Beach goers
But again, the public is so programmed into anything that's not private owned being socialism that they let a single company, completely unaccountable to residents, call all the shots. Oh well, this is what you wanted. Enjoy it.
They're not supposed to be restricted Murphy signed doctrine into law 2019 all coastal area are open to the public
Probably for the best if they closed it down for now. Companies arent in business to close for no good reason. They probably have a good reason.
Why are beach owned ny private citizens???
Oregon and Washington State beaches are owned by the public.
I'm not sure about California.
I'm saying B..S ..?
No company should own public beaches!!!!
The mayor and council are at fault!!
I do understand that people do the wrong thing , but the beach should be free!!
It sucks that a FREAKING COMPANY owns the beaches
