  1. Michael Rubin is the CEO of Fanatics. He was one of many awful owners of the Philadelphia 76ers (he’s from outside Philly) and the NJ Devils in the NHL. He also partnered with Mitchell & Ness vintage sports apparel (headquarters in Philly) and will hopefully not ruin it too!! He also is interested in buying a Scottish ⚽️ team (forget the name.)

  2. There are different "levels" of jerseys. Nike Replicas are cheap, comparatively. They are still well made as far as normal clothing goes. They look similar to the real thing but don't have the high tech fabrics or quality of assembly (silk printing instead of stitching, for example). You can pick those up all day long for under 100 quid and look fine at a sports bar or ballpark.

With Nike, Limited is the step up. Moneywise, it isn't far. Around 125 quid gets a jersey that looks like the one the players have and is a step up in assembly quality over the Replica level. This is what most serious fans would get and be willing to wear in "uncontrolled environments".

Nike Elite is a 1-to-1 of what the players wear. Around 350 quid, the pre-2024 quality was outstanding. I haven't gotten a 2024 to see what they screwed up in person yet or how bad it really is. Basically everything should be perfect on them in terms of clothing construction and all the little subtle things that obsessive passionate fans notice is there. It is more than anyone ever practically needs unless they are trying to perform at the absolute highest level that they can. This is what you buy if you are real serious or have money to burn and love your team/player. If you have an opportunity to get your favorite player to sign something and you want them to sign a jersey, you get one of theses if you can afford it and then stick it behind glass to never risk having a beer spilled on it.

Names for levels change based on company and era so if you are buying older version or already signed jerseys you would want to look up the different versions to figure out exactly what you are buying.

I didn't consider the high VAT you have or what they would cost to you in a different country when listing approximate prices. Those are around what someone in the US could hop online and buy a jersey for right now with local sales tax.

  3. As Americans we've always been against having logos/branding on jerseys. It cheapens the authenticity of a sport while watching, and we dont like owners being greedy. They dont need the extra money. Dont cheapen the look of a sport like soccer does. The most ridiculous one is the soccer team that says BIMBO across the front of the jersey in huge letters. That's disgraceful and hilarious at the same time

  4. Last year replica jerseys were all stitched and embroidered for $140. This year they are all heat pressed aka iron-on and sell for $170. It's just another case of fans getting fleeced but this time they clubs and players are too.

  5. A lot of the complaints about the design details just sounds like knit picking. I think the perforated numbers look good and some of the other thinks they were complaining about aren't even really noticeable. what, is the lettering half a centimeter lower? Who cares?

  6. Hornets are not owned by MJ anymore as he was a horrible owner. He sold a few year ago fro $3B. Also Jordan is Nike his shoes are made by them and owned by Nike obvioulsy Mj has % in the revnue and production.
