  1. Mostly a lot about nothing. The new jerseys look fine to me. However, see-through pants would be a bad look. Previous uniforms (I've worn them) were pretty uncomfortable and 100% heavy polyester. They were designed for durability more than anything. I would have preferred a lighter jersey back then. The pants were good, durable and cleaned easy.

  2. One thing that isn't being talked about yet is that beginning this year, the sponsorship logos are not uniform. It used to be a team might have secondary logo on one sleeve, and starting last year, they added the sponsor logos (Chevrolet in the Soler photo in this video, or Marathon on the Guardians uniforms, etc.) to the other. But now the sponsorship logo will be prevalent to the "forward facing arm" of the player (i.e. LHP will have it on his right sleeve, a RH batter on his left sleeve) so as to maximize the exposure of the sponsorship logo when on shown on TV. This just defeats the purpose of uniformity to me, and makes the uniforms look even more tacky than they already are with having the sponsorship logos on them.

  3. If your business is making jerseys and the main reason you make money is by selling them to fans, why would you cheap out on Team and player jerseys who are basically "modeling" the jerseys for your company? It's just ridiculous!

  4. The middle level of jerseys that Nike/Fanatics are offering are a problem that you should acknowledge. They've raised the prices from $139 to $179 and provide a cheaper and worse product. That's not good for fans. Who's on our side?

  5. It's not going to change, MLB and all major sports have been giving the fan the middle finger for decades now. They don't care what the fan thinks. Rob Manfred said "get used to it" and that tells you all you need to hear about what they think of the fans.

  6. I was excited because my wife was going to get me a Tatis Jr and a Julio Rodríguez jerseys for my birthday, but after seeing all the changes I don't even want them anymore.. Sucks, I guess I'll get some shoes instead

  7. I like the new pants, the see through is legit,no guessing you can see the whole package, love that the MLB is supporting even more slave labor, just like the nba,if it's CCP made,we like it

  8. I strongly believe that the most important voice will be the consumer… There is a reason why Nike and Fanatics are paying MLB for the rights to produce their uniforms, they want to make the money from consumer sales. Who are the ones that are going to spend or not spend their hard earned money, the fans! The players can complain but they are getting paid to wear a uniform, their biggest gripe will be not being able to customize the fit but at the end of the day, they will play in what they are provided. The fans who have to dish out $400 for an "Authentic" piece of apparel are the ones these corporations are targeting so if you don't like and do not feel these are worth the $400 of your hard earned cash, don't spend your money on them and watch Nike and Fanatics do a 180!

I am NOT buying any of these new jerseys as there is now way they are worth it and neither should anyone else. This will make them fix this issue.

  9. A few months ago I heard rumors about the lettering for the player name and number being forced to fit into a size template for all teams and I knew this was 100% so they could pump out the jerseys in the same factory. Everything else I've heard just screams cost cutting. This is embarrassing. These are retail uniforms. Don't be fooled.

  10. About a mile of an old dusty road way down yonder on Australia, a sheep farmer tells his wife and family that they will no longer be able to sustain their farm anymore.

Its because of those damm polyester fabrics. we cant compete with them anymore!

A teardrop is seen running down the cheek of his daughter who comes to realize her days of riding her pony says tonher dad. You mean we gotta leave the farm???

Bring back the old school wool jerseys. Embroidered logos thicker materials, quality stuff without cutting the costs of this modern day crap that is so prevalent these days. Diminutive lettering and stupid city comnect colors…yellow in Boston WTF?

What's next synthetic dirt? Plastic bats? The only thing that's real anymore is pur hard earned money going into the pockets of corporate America and they are laughing their asses off at us.

  11. One key detail continues to expose Nike’s lies about about making things like the patches have less detail for them to be lighter. Nike changed the MLB logo on the back of the jerseys from the previously used semi-reflective logo to the now 100% fabric logo that nearly completely matches the version that was being used on the replica jerseys. There is absolutely no advantage weight wise to move to the fabric logo. The only reason to do this is to make the logo out of a cheaper material. Also there appears to be an over all attempt to make the authentic jerseys look more like the replica jerseys and push more fans to those, which have gone up in price but also gotten cheaper.

  12. Im glad I purchased jerseys back in the 90's and 2000s when the quality was unquestioned. I dont need another jersey, and wouldnt buy the new garbage even if I needed one, especially at that ridiculous price. MLB is destroying itself, not just in the uniform department.

  13. This "breathable" horseshit is a laughably transparent attempt at gaslighting not just the players but paying customers so that they can increase their profit margins.
And it's bad enough they're selling an obviously inferior product, they now have the gall to charge even more.

The NHL is also headed down this disastrous path, too, with Fanatics having secured an exclusive deal for TEN YEARS.
