Al menos tres personas han muerto y «alrededor de una docena» están desaparecidas luego de una explosión e incendio en un bloque de viviendas en Jersey. Los jefes de policía, bomberos y ambulancias dieron una actualización sobre la situación y dijeron que se han desplegado oficiales especialistas para consolar a los miembros de la familia durante «esta fase temprana de búsqueda y rescate». El jefe de policía Robin Smith dijo que el proceso no sería rápido y podría durar «días o semanas». Why didn't gas company make checks after reports of smelling gas? Someone needs to be held responsible.
Started off patting his and the governments backs .That should come after the facts of the causes.My condolences to all affected by this tragedy.

These news conferences are mostly taken up with introduction and naming of all the agencies represented and not the facts of the matter..
Gas, the mystery continues as this is no longer an isolated case as we've had a number of incidents this year in the U.K. and it's still not solved.

Why were people told to go home after reporting the continuous smell of gas at 9.00pm prior to the explosion?

Jersey isn't part of the UK and regs are not the same.
Seemed to be little talk of the gas leak that had been earlier reported at the site of the explosion.
Was looking at changing career couple of years back looked at gas fitting was surprised it would only take 6 month training.says it all.
If anybody has had any recent jaunts with British Gas, then this will come as no surprise!!
What an awful little bureaucrat. All about the self praise and back-slapping and very little about those residents. What caused this incident ?????? Let's talk about that. It's like the families and residents and an after-thought in this interview.
