This never ages…it's as familiar as a friend from childhood…..
I love this band and I am sorry for your loss
Boyd's playing in this is like a crazy driving metronome.
❤
My favorite song ❤❤
Just a masterpeace. ❤️
best version of their best song (tied with #41)
That’s weird…I always thought this song was Satans perspective of banishment from Heaven and the weight of the impending doom he faces as a fallen angel…or something like that. DMB has been my favorite band for just about forever. Love to everyone.
when my son was my born i was singing a song to him under my breath and my wife said "you better not be singing one of those depressing emo songs to him!" and i said i'm singing him 'the stone' because i had to hold up his head when his head couldn't hold on… and that's our little family's meaning to this song
?
thanks joe navran for choose this song in F.O.R and thanks shazam to put a name on this big song ^^ love it
I live in Australia and had loved Dave for a few years before knowing what he even looked like. Then I got this dvd from America and boom. LIFE CHANGED.
This song is incredible. Brings back a lot of memories
5:04 … what a moment
Does anyone know which guitar he is playing here?
The transition from 5:02 and on is so freaking beautiful. Brings tears everytime.
5:02 We cheer because it's 'Dave' & it's romantic – but when THAT one person that you love(d) breaks your heart, & tells you (or doesn't) they're not coming along – yeah, reality, deal.?
Band members died…..forgive

Makes me miss LeRoi! What a masterful musician.
Great job from all the members.
Dave is the fckin man.
Sounds fun
Lets go.e
good ole days
wow
I've this creeping
Suspicion that things here are not as they seem
Reassure me
Oh, Why do I feel as if I'm in too deep?
Now, I've been praying
For some way to show them
I'm not what they see
Yes I have done wrong
But what I did I thought needed be done
I swear
Oh, unholy day
If I leave now I might get away
Oh but, this weighs on me
As heavy as stone and as blue as I go
I was just wondering if you'd come along
To hold up my head when my head won't hold on
I'll do the same if the same's what you want
If not I'll go
I will go alone
I'm a long way
Oh, from that fool's mistake and now forever pay
No, run
I will run and I'll be OK
I was just wondering if you'd come along
To hold up my head when my head won't hold on
I'll do the same if the same's what you want
But If not I'll go
I will go a long way
To bury the past
For I don't want to pay
Oh, how I wish this
To turn back the clock
And do over again
Now, I'm wondering if you'd come along
To hold up my head when my head won't hold on
I'll do the same if the same's what you want
But if not I'll go
I'll go alone
I need so
To stay in your arms see you smile hold you close
And now it weighs on me
As heavy as stone and a bone chilling cold
I was just wondering if you'd come along
Tell me you will
Brilliant song. Brilliantly played. Love. Love. Love.
This performance could be turned into a movie.
PERFECT is the ONLY word that best describes this music. I love the voice, the guitar, the drum, and most especially, the violin!
Ok, musicians out there, how does this compare with 'Mad About You' by the Police?
One of my absolute favorite DMB tunes. Something about this song speaks to my soul.
Best. Song. Ever.
I feel …for the non sophisticated musical ear in 2000 and on. Wait I take that back. ? goodbye golden age it was fun while it lasted.
Oh, how I miss the old DMB. Don't get me wrong, still love them but I do miss the LeRoi and Boyd sound
Can we appreciate how awesome everyone in this setting is and how talented!!! And that bass????
Oh my heart bleeds Lord
Best live version of this song!!
??
Everybody's sleeping on the bass on this song but it really rounds out the sound… beautiful
Why is this video scrambled?
I love this song, especially at this concert.
I love the look he gives Carter at 6:07! Priceless
One of their bests…
