Jersey club is a style of dance music created by Black DJs from New Jersey. Recently, this sound has gone viral online across YouTube, Instagram, and Tik Tok. The sound is in the mainstream again after Drake released his album Honestly, Nevermind. Like many other dance genres the music production used to be dominated by men, but today the women of New Jersey are helping to push this genre to new heights.

Our host, LA Buckner gets introduced to the world of club music by UNIIQU3, a producer that’s taking Jersey club to the next level. Also watch the icon, DJ Tameil, talk us through the historical roots of the Jersey club rhythm. This genre isn’t just music – it’s life, energy, and community, creating a safe space for the young people of New Jersey.

Special thanks to Kelchurhub for the filming location.

  1. Yasss Jersey ! Thank you for coming to New Jersey, Highlighting Jersey Club and Shedding light on the work I've done for the culture and Black Women in Music. I hope this video inspires other women to Dj, Produce and Turn Up in whatever they do ! xo UNIIQU3

  2. It ist gute that Women in a general sense always be recognized for their contributions to any Genre of music or performing arts…No specific race of women should be considered special in this quest. I'm guessing das Jersey Club ist an American thing that ist popular in many larger urban cities? I have friends in many countries und none of them have heard of it in Europe or at least one Asian country it seems. We do have access to das American military base satellite TV near Wiesbaden. This Jersey Club performs on das American Tele "[PBS] Public Broadcasting Station" sometime?
    Auf Wiedersehen

  3. im from south jersey but when I was 16 I moved to Newark and learned about jersey club music. That was the first time I went to a party and ppl were actually dancing. We had a ball back then..

  4. Eh, I hate Jersey, especially the shore… 😉 Why don't you listen to artists who actually write poetry and play an instrument instead of a bunch of drama queens screaming on a track with electric sound in the background? God forbid a music artist actually write their own songs or play an actual instrument, such a thing would require work and talent.

  5. I swear I've heard people doing remixes like this even when I was younger, not sure this is exactly new? Unless they mean just now starting to below up. Usually what happens with music like this. Reminds me of House, Hardstyle, Trap, Drill, ETC.

  6. never heard of it but it don't surprise me that it's a black american thing….. a black american thing that whites n latinos are gonna push their way in, copy and label themselves the kings n queens!
