House Tours: A $1,950, 1 Bedroom Apartment in Downtown Jersey City
Name: Victoria; partner, Andrew; and 4-year-old French Bulldog, Theodore aka «Teddy»
Location: Downtown Jersey City, New Jersey
Type of home: Apartment
Size: 600 square feet/56 square meters
Years lived in: 2 years, renting
Rent: $1950/month
From living at home with family to moving in, with her partner, for the first time, Victoria had a challenge of how they were going to decorate this apartment. Even before moving, they secured some items they knew would fit inside, such as their quirky bicycle table and comfortable Eames chair. From there, it took one picture on the wall to influence the rest of the style and decor in the apartment; all orange everything and very cozy. Though Victoria is known for «dilly dallying,» she has taken her time in making this home unique theirs, even for their pup Teddy too.

This is beautiful! And so great to see some colour.
Your apartment tour just came up on my YouTube feed. I absolutely love your apartment!!! You did a fabulous job with your space. Love the colors, your style and the warmth that I feel when looking at your apartment. I will definitely be incorporating some of your style into my space! Love, love, absolutely love.
I love your cozy apartment.
This is hands down one of my favourite apartment therapy home tours I've ever seen. Victoria has done an incredible job playing with colour and making every room feel spacious and polished. Beautiful!
Very pretty. Not cookie-cutter. Great use of space
Love that bike table ❤
Really nice Apartment. And she seems to be a funny and happy person? Thanks for the Tour?
Beautiful apartment ❤ It’s cozy ?
I like her apartment for them. The whole one bedroom apartment decoration reminds me of college dorm. I really, really like the bicycle table, console, and the beautiful painting she bought. Enjoy!
I am seeing the trending White and burnt orange color combination and I love it so much. It created striking and balanced aesthetic that's so warm.??
She is so organized she did such a great job?❤?
Very nicely decorated!
Lovely space.
Soo cute and thought out…Every inch is beautiful and/ or purposeful! Tons of ideas for living in a small place and not having to sacrifice much… I have a gaming family, but I appreciate beautiful spaces, so thank you for sharing… I love ideas on how to hide things.
Beautiful apartment!
Wow I love their style! Such a beautiful and functional space
Eclectic cozy but with a downtown city vibe. Cute!
WOOWWW LOOOOOOOVEEEEE! You've done such a good job – so colourful and you've maximised every space! It looks SO cosy and I especially love your bedroom! I have a 1900 Victorian Terrace house in the UK but when I see videos likes this it makes me want an apartment!!
I think you’ve nailed the design and layout of your apartment! Your fireplace mantle is very pretty! You’ve done a lovely job of finding investment furniture pieces that are both functional and beautiful/interesting.Bravo to Andrew’s grandma for gifting you two an Eames chair! Wow! ?? Enjoy your beautiful little home!
All that clutter is going to be a no for me.
Beautiful apartment…but the soundproof closet leading to the basement. what was the space used for previously?
Adorei o seu apartamento e a sua criatividade em aproveitar todos os cantos…parabéns, ficou lindo. Rio de Janeiro – Brasil.
?
Too cramped for my taste. It just seems too hard to even breathe in there.
What a lovely apartment. For my own taste, I would remove about half of the decor. There’s too much going on for me.
I really like this tour!
I am so impressed that this is their first apartment. They did such a good job designing it and her personality shines through!
Beautiful space, especial the foyer!
Love love it. It is bright and colorful and I agree that you buy your art first and furniture to match second! It just happens that I pretty much love all the art they have.
It's got too much stuff, hidden everywhere. And this is coming from someone people hyperbolically call a 'hoarder.'
So, here’s the thing, one common theme I hear her saying is oh no there’s an empty space. She says it almost every other minute. She seems a little overwhelmed with empty spaces. I get it, she’s very young and it’s her first apartment;therefore, I respect her process with decorating and trying to justify her anxiety with empty space.
I think they have done a fabulous job working with such a tight space for two people. I just hope she watches the real world constructive criticism that is coming from many people from a diverse community, and doesn’t get so offended and just dismiss it.
Anyway, long story short, my advice would be to allow empty space to be there, so you can have room for living and adjustments that will be needed for future changes that life brings. I’m happy that she seems to allow her partner to have some opinions with the spacing of items. That’s very mature and respectful at such a young age. If you live with someone else, you must allow them to have their say in how the apartment will be used. If you don’t do that, then you are setting yourself up for a break up. I’m glad she seems very respectful to her partner. Loved the tour, thanks for sharing your home! ❤
