  1. Central is Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Somerset, and Hunterdon Counties with possibly some of northern Ocean and southern Union Counties. It’s the best part of the state in my opinion. North Jersey especially the eastern part is too crowded, too expensive, too much traffic, too far from the beach, and everyone is rude and in a hurry. I don’t know too much about South Jersey but it doesn’t seem like there is much to do there unless you live in Camden County or by the shore.

  2. As someone raised in north jersey who moved to “central jersey” after college, it is definitely different from north jersey. But I do kinda agree with 2:22 , central is just what I expected south to be, pork rolls, hoagies, and all. So idk if I’m buying it

  3. Central Jersey only exists for the people that consider themselves from there; nobody else acknowledges Central Jersey. Hence Murphy’s inability to distinguish Taylor Ham from Pork Roll or a sub from a hoagie.

  4. NO and I repeat NO person in south Jersey EVER calls it a Hogie. None. Zero. Nada. Zilch. A sub is made in South Jersey with Atlantic City Bread. Bread you will get nowhere else in the US. I rest my case

  5. As a NYer that lived in Lambertville for a number of years around the turn of the millennium, and having worked in both Philly (ugh..) and NYC, I loved that area now called central Jersey – long may it reign! good to see that Chief Justice Stewart agrees!

  6. My rule of thumb is, if people from Philadelphia say you’re from North Jersey, and people from NYC/Bergen County say your from South Jersey, than you’re from Central New Jersey.

  7. There is only 4 parts of Jersey; South Jersey, Trenton and Princenton Suburbs(cough cough Central Jersey), Jersey Shore and North Jersey(which you can debate starts in either New Brunswick, Edison or Avalon). Maybe you say 5; if you say New Brunswick and Suburbs. Those are the parts of Jersey

  8. I am amazed that comments weren't disabled for this video!

…also- there is a clear line of central nj from the driscol bridge to the manasqaun river, largely defined by the Summer tourists (and mostly the rejection of them)…

And then there is the infrastructure and road system that creates a natural cultural cooridor

finally, the life cycle of that species known as the 'North American Staten Islander'… they spend their formative years in 'Guido Mordor', mate in NJ, and go to die in Florida- it is the circle of life…

Murphy would be laughed at in Middletown if he didn't ask for pork roll…

  9. Jon Stewart grew up around the corner from me in Lawrence Township. I remember him tending bar on Franklin Corner Road. We are from Central New Jersey!

  10. hahha grew up just south of Trenton in a lil town called Cookstown, we def where central NJ but just said south jersey to make sense. If we tried telling people where we lived and they didnt know where the AFB was we just said 15-20 min south of Six Flags and people understood the general area..aka BUMBLEFUCK, NJ
