I agree. Udonis isnt a HOFer but definetely deserved to be retired by Miami
I mean being a part of 3 rings for a team and playing 20 years definitely warrants a jersey retirement
You’re so right in this video. All of Heat nation agrees that UD’s jersey should’ve been retired
UD was a pretty damn good player. He was born and raised in Miami, played four years at Florida. Was an undrafted player that was a solid contributor for 10-15 years and played two full decades for his hometown franchise that wasn’t even around when he was born
They don't understand how much he helped LeBron.
Haslem was solid but defenitly didnt deserve to get is jersey retired . He deserves respect but not his number retired # FACTS!
What loyalty he take the same salary as assistant coach a below vet salary of course he will take it i can name a team.that would pay haslem atleast 3m just to sit on the bench
If you put haslem on the trade block i sure nobody would wants him
Man ionno why the hell people hate the fact that they retired Haslem’s jersey. Like dude literally backed up his boys on the court, forgot who it was but he absolutely destroyed someone for fucking with D Wade
He leads the heat in rebounds all time and has 3 rings get off his dick. Mid range never miss and he ended his career with a 24 piece 3/3 from 3 y’all really need to relax on him he’s a heat legend
Only Gen z complaining
For the people who think Harlem’s number shouldn’t have been retired, Nick Collison did way less for the Thunder and still got his number retired
He for sure deserves his jersey retired, no idea why ppl got a problem with it
I feel bad idek who he is
Jersey retirement is essentially a thank you from the team, doesn’t necessarily mean you’re one of the best in the teams history, and Haslem played his whole career in Miami and embodied what heat culture is. An example from another team in the league, the Thunder are probably not gonna retire KD’s jersey despite him probably being the best player in their franchise history, but they did retire Nick Collison’s jersey.
Being a great player isn’t all about being a superstar, Udonis always understood that which is why he was ok playing his role despite how crazy talented he was, he was a important part of all the heats title runs, as a long life heat fan I can definitely testify to that
Curry, Duncan, Kobe, Haslem
UD was miami's best mentor
These people think you have to have a billion points and a billion rings tj be celebrated. The names you will hear in certain arenas that are retired would make yalls jaws drop to the floor it’s about what that player did for that city, that team and that community. It’s not all stats but that’s the tik tok brains working overtime
It was okay for pat Tillman tho
Not like #40 is a wanted number either
Nick collision was the first thunder player to get his jersey hung up.. and no one had a problem.. which they shouldn't… he was basically our Haslem lol
In an era where a person can get traded left and right for him to be part of three championship teams, was born and raised in Miami and spent 20 years with the heat. It’s a no brainer like non fans and casuals will say why? Or what he do? Basketball fans know why he getting his number retired. Best wishes to him and hope the best in his retirement he has earned it UD?
People don’t seem to have a problem with Jordan’s jersey being retired for a team he didn’t even play for lmao
I agree he was heat mainstay for a generation. kids where born and grew to manhood while he was there.
Exactly why i deleted all the socals, way too much negativity and bs
The heat also have 23 retired for MJ (who never played there) and 13 for Dan Marino. This isn't exactly their most far fetched jersey retirement.
Udonis was actually a really good fucking player. Not only is he selfless, always had his teammates back and he never gave up on his organization. A real veteran and a OG in the NBA man. Respect?
People just see him playing 20 years and not being lebron they don’t understand how hard that is tho and to be as good as he was
I think people look at the Celtics and lakers and assume you have to be an all time great and bring a chip to the city to get your jersey retired for every team.
When in reality most teams retire the Jersey of their longest tenured players, first all star, things like that.
The only bad thing about this was that it happened to come on a night where they lost on a buzzer beater.
pat riley and coach spo credit udonis for his work ethic and leadership in contributing to heat success over his career.
You do the cadence to get comments about the cadence or is that just your commentary voice cause the pauses for effect every sentence makes these videos long
As a lifelong heat fan, he definitely deserved to have his number retired. NO QUESTION
this nikka averaged 3 ppg ?
While some teams go – like my Cavs – have gone overboard in retiring jerseys, this doesn’t fit that category. Heat did the right thing.
I want Rodmans bulls jersey retired ?
