Underway on Battleship New Jersey



21 March 2024, at 1210 ET the ship is slated to get underway for Paulsboro Marine Terminal and then later the Philadphia Navy Yard for drydocking.

  1. Aside from the Super Carriers, I can't think of another ship type that inspires awe and power the way the battleships do, especially the Iowas. I'm so glad there's still interest in maintaining these important national treasures. Thanks Libby and Ryan for the commentary. You guys rock!!

  2. I call BS on Ryan's claim that so called global warming is to blame for the river becoming more brackish. Sea levels are not rising appreciably. Go look at photos of Liberty Island from the 1880s when the statue was first installed vs today. The sea level is the same. The reason is that less fresh water is flowing downstream in the Delaware. Water usage rises every year allowing less to make it to the river.
